Why? - I have more t-shirts than I will ever need : )

Why I do the crazy things I do, I will probably NEVER know! But today I'm kinda wanting this FREE t-shirt, even though I know I have more t-shirts than I will EVER need. Maybe it will be added to my t-shirt Quilt, one day. Just speaking a little LOUD these days and trying real hard not to apologize for it. Anyway - CHEERS!

Ooops - a Blog without a photo - Lookout! : )

What I Need

One day before Mother's Day and I find myself in need - in need of therapeutic blogging, that is. Wow, we have made quite a few changes in our lives since my last post in February. Our biggest change is a new home, that may eventually hold all of our junk. I think my favorite "housey" thing is washing dishes and being able to see the marsh - some Spanish moss and a little water at high tide. As if this was not beautiful enough, there is an air conditioning vent that blows cold air on my tired toes - Ah, God is so good! It really is the simple things. Did you catch that? Yes, ME washing dishes, can I get a Hallelujah?!?!

So we made it through what will probably be our last Girl Scout Cookie Season, our School's Annual Handprint Art Fiasco, Moving & Grooving way too many possessions from one location to another, Alyssa's First Communion, Serving our Church Nursery during Holy Week and celebrating some of our friends totally changing their lives and taking off in an RV (if you're a dreamer, like I am, you ABSOLUTELY MUST check out their blog - they are my new heroes!). The Moore Family - RVing It.

So we're still here and the journey continues. There are hundreds of photos - somewhere, I'll find them one day. I just needed a moment to stop and think and blog a little. Now I need to get back in the yard - yes, me gardening again, I put in five hours one day this week and have a whopping case of Poison Oak to prove it! I'm content, maybe even a little happy, better watch out - come on Summer, I need ya now! : )

August Already?

Can it really be August already? We have been busy and the Blog has been a little neglected. We were tourists in our own town and went to see Ft. Sumter and Alyssa had a fun play date with Hali. Drew has been taking some really nice landscape photos I want to post and I have taken up a new time consuming hobby that is keeping me off the Blog, ebay and Facebook - it's all good! Photos coming soon . . .

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to our Blog! Thanks to all of you who visit our Blog and keep up with the A Team's Happenings. We had over 4,000 visits this year. Not only has our blog served as a scrapbook for Alyssa and an update for family and friends, it has been very therapeutic for me. Now that Drew has taken an interest in photography, we hope our blog will be even better in 2009! Thanks again for your attention!

You know you are from Charleston, S.C. if....

The smell of a marsh makes you homesick.

You eat rice with every meal.

You don't understand cities that have to keep electing new mayors.

You've mowed your lawn on Christmas.

You've killed a cockroach with your bare hand.

Unless a cockroach is bigger than your hand, it's just a baby - no big deal.

The construction signs say "Let 'Em Work, Let 'Em Live"

You've seriously considered climbing on top of the Coburg Cow to take a picture.

You have a picture of the Coburg Cow decorated for Christmas.

It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy.

You get excited when you see a guy selling boiled peanuts out the back of a pickup.

You know not to pick up the orange "Half Rubbers with flags" that are found in the puddles on downtown streets.

People actually grow and eat okra.

You know exactly when high tide is - even if you don't own a boat.

You've driven over all the Cooper River Bridges.

You have tripped over the bricks downtown.

The SC Aquarium is boring to you because you went there too many times.

You hold the door behind you for the next person.

You know that there is an island near Edisto called "monkey island" and that there are real monkeys on it.

You know not to go down Harbor View Road at 5 o'clock

School is cancelled for it being too cold.

You love going to watch the fireworks on July 4th and New Years.

You know what the washout is.

You break out your warmest winter coat when it gets below 60 degrees.

A robbery or a fire downtown reported on the news is no new thing.

You know what a Piggly Wiggly is and you frequently shop there.

You know that high tide and downtown don’t mix.

You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit is "a little warm."

A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola or pop ... it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor. For example: "What kinda coke you want?"

Sweet tea is appropriate for all meals.

Oyster Roasts happen every weekend during fall and winter.

You wear sandals in the winter.

You hate it when all of the swings are taken at the Water Front Park.

When the draw bridges are up and you're stuck in traffic you simply think "What a wonderful place to live!"

I'm all Blogged up!

A new term for being full of blogs but no access to my computer. Drew fried ours with his ipod so I have been without a computer to do my blogging. I will catch back up soon, for now, I'm just cracking myself up!

A few definitions . . .

Time for a few definitions:

The A Team - short for Anderson, first coined for use during Bridge Run training in 2001, when Kim and Drew fell in love, awwww! Current team members now include Alyssa, Maggie May, Scooby and Izzy.

Perdia - Kim's nickname which means "lost" in Spanish - also first coined for use in 2001 - what a year!

Our First Post

alyssa's typing - our very first post - hooray!

The Explanation: Alyssa is learning how to use the computer and typed our very first blog above. I tell her the letters and she types them. ONE at the time. Talk about slowing down your life! Alyssa learns to use the keyboard and Momma practices patience - a win-win for both of us but much harder on Momma!

So I guess the A Team is gonna try blogging now, so far it seems pretty easy. Heck, a four year old can do it!
