Father's Day - Celebrated
We think Drew had a good Father's Day, as Mr. Funnyman put it, "Of all the Holidays I have, I work the hardest for this one - so I'm taking it!" His number one requested gift - FREE time - ha! So we gave him plenty of that. Then wrapped up the weekend at Longhorn's. Dinner included many "Bear Hugs" from Alyssa and was followed by a 3:00 AM visitor joining us to sleep after nightmares about a flood washing her away and she "didn't even have her swimmies!" A great weekend ironically ending up just about the way it all started!

Children Need A Daddy
Children need a Daddy
For many, many things:
Like holding them high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music
That tells them all is right
When they awaken frantic with
The terrors of the night.
Like being the great mountain
That rises in their hearts
And shows them how they might get home
When all else falls apart.
Like giving them the love
That is their sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
They'll always find him there.
Happy Father's Day!

Family Vacation - Wild Dunes
Even though the Beach was under construction due to "Renourishment" we managed to have a wonderful time on our Family Beach Vacation to Wild Dunes.
Poppy REALLY enjoyed his first week of Retirement - Zzzzzzz!
Another fun dining experience and beautiful sunset.

Goodbye to Ms. Cassie & Jake
Friday was a very sad day. We had to say goodbye to one of Alyssa's favorite teachers, Ms. Cassie AND to Alyssa's "boyfriend" Jake. She and Jake have been school friends for three years, this year she proudly announced she was going to marry Jake. Jake has several women in this class and he bought all his girls some "bling" as goodbye gifts. I will miss my "Go Tigers!" buddy and his Mom, Paulette, who was so kind and dedicated. We will also miss Ms. Cassie terribly. The children and parents gave Ms. Cassie a really neat plate with all the children's thumbprints painted into crabs and a Scrapbook, where each child made her a page. It was a wonderfully sweet but sad party. We hope Ms. Cassie and Jakey will stay in touch and one day read our Blog!
