Happy Birthday Vuvva!

By the look on his face, you can tell that Vuvva enjoyed his birthday weekend celebration. We celebrated at Lake Murray most of Saturday and Sunday. This is a photo of Vuvva and all his Grandchildren plus the delicious Banana Pudding that Lisa made - YUM!!!. Below are a few more highlights . . .

Alyssa couldn't wait to get on the Zip Line!

Another of Vuvva's unique inventions is the "Train" - the twins and Alyssa had a blast being pulled around on this vehicle.

They have all grown so much they're having to duck to get their picture taken.

Drew took time to sharpen his photography skills and took some great Sunset shots . . .

Even woke up early and captured the Sunrise.

Like the children who love the box more than the toy, another highlight of the weekend was the Robot Vacuum, Erica and Alyssa playing with it here.

Alyssa's favorite person of the weekend was Will, Heidi's boyfriend. I think she might have had a little crush on "Willed" as she kept calling him.

Once again Vuvva and Nana's Grandchildren from L-R - Alyssa, Emily, Miller, Heidi and Erica. What an incredibly FUN weekend! Thanks Nana and Vuvva for inviting us to the Lake. When can we do it again?!?!?!

We had an extra special "Date Night" last night, we saw Jerry Seinfeld in Concert at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. Drew and I both LOVE him and his show was fantastic! I cried for two hours I was laughing so hard!

After this week of Governor indiscretions and 1980's icon deaths, we needed a good laugh and he had some great material. My eyes are still swollen this morning!

I swiped these photos off the internet, our seats were not close enough to see his facial expressions, but we felt we got our money's worth. Thank you, Jerry Seinfeld for an evening full of laughs!

Father's Day Weekend

It was another traveling weekend for the A-Team. This time to a place we had never been, Albemarle, NC.

We stayed in Albemarle for a wedding in Norwood, NC. Kathleen Kilbourne's daughter, Brooke Saunders, married BJ Harris. Kathleen was my UMYF Youth Director growing up and officiated at Drew and I's wedding seven years ago. She's a very special lady to us! I used to babysit Brooke, hard to believe she's a grown woman big enough to get married! The ceremony was wonderful, the Circle of Life.

Next stop - Walmart, no make that Super Walmart! Since it was conveniently across the street from our hotel, we had to get the WM List done. Alyssa enjoyed picking out a lunch box and thermos she needed for a Picnic at school this week.

Sunday - Father's Day, Alyssa made the design on a new coffee cup. And the aspiring photographer also received several digital photography books. We have spent quite a few Father's Days in hotels.

One last shot of Alyssa swimming in the hotel pool, she's really nailing that go under thing. She loved this pool! Another busy weekend for the A-Team, thanks for hanging with me on this trip to NC, it was a long one, but so much better when we're all together!

Scooby and Maggie May

We decided a while back that we wanted to do a blog for Scooby in June for his 16th birthday. He is almost impossible to capture in still photos but now that we have this video thing going, it seemed to be the purrrrrfect way to celebrate! Here he is loving up on his doggie, Maggie May. Maggie turned 10 in April (and we forgot to do a blog for her - ooops!). So enjoy Scooby's debut on the blog and Maggie's first video, although we have been a little slack with the animals since Alyssa came along, we sure do love our fuzz balls!

Weekend in Columbia, SC

We had a really nice weekend in Columbia. We had lunch with Clay and Miller, took Granny to the Edventure Children's Museum and swam in a pool for the first time this summer. Above Alyssa is either giving or stealing sugar from her Granny.

Miller is getting so BIG! It was a special treat to have lunch with he and Clay.

Granny with her two Grand kids, Alyssa and Miller. Then it was off to Edventure . . .

Big Eddie - it's hard to capture his true size, but he is HUGE and Alyssa had a great time crawling inside his stomach, heart and brain. A really neat display!

There is no containing the energy of this girl - she was all about action and this Children's Museum was a great place to unleash her! She's playing music by hopping around.

Granny and I watching Drew and Alyssa climb to the top of the Energy Tower.

Alyssa's favorite thing was this slide (Don't they have these at McDonald's?)

Slide down then jump - what fun, oh, to be young again!

Then it was off to the hotel where our girl took a two hour swim and is getting better at going under.

Then, dinner at guess where?

Finally, a video of Alyssa playing with Granny and Chevy's kitty, Lilly. We had a really fun weekend and can't wait to see you guys again soon!

Charleston Riverdogs Baseball Game

We went to our first Riverdogs game in 5 years, over the weekend. Just for comparison purposes I had to include some photos from that last game 5 years ago. . .

Look how much Alyssa has grown, look how skinny Momma used to be :(
Same look on her face - why is all of Dada's hair gray?
Drew captured a beautiful sunset from the stadium at high tide - life goes on . . .
One last blast from the past - all these babies start Kindergarten in the fall - Alyssa, Kim Matthew, Cameron, Abigail and Caroline. How time flies!!!

Good Food with Old Friends

Finally - Drew gets a blog! this past week we had two great meals with old friends of Drew's. We started off meeting Paul's family for dinner at Shem Creek Bar and Grill (Does this make you hungry, Uncle Brad?!?).

Drew and Paul have been friends since they were teenagers, so good to catch up!

Married and one child later . . .
Paul, Maryam, and one of the cutest babies ever, Wade!
Lovely sunset on Shem Creek . . .
Next, black beans and rice a week later at Vickery's - what a healthy eating boy!
Kevin Kipler (KK), Drew, Wade and Paul, more friends, more good Lowcountry food!
Everyone has a camera . . .
And why not?
Shrimp boats on Shem Creek.
And what blog would be complete without a photo or mention of Alyssa? Here she is examining the sidewalk artwork, one of my favorite things about Vickery's. Although I have to recommend the Portabella Mushroom Sandwich - it was delicious!

Preschool Graduation Photos

Can it really be time for our 5 pound "sack of sugah" to go to Kindergarten?

That's what this Diploma says.

The Three Amigas sharing refreshments - we are REALLY gonna miss our friends, especially Piper and Hali!

And our teachers, especially Ms. Melissa and Ms. Elsa.

I love this photo! Our Preschool "boyfriend" - Gabriel, notice the matching missing tooth.

Hali, William, Gabriel and Alyssa - Look Out Kindergarten . . . . . .

HERE WE . . .
