Not much going on this weekend except planning a second honeymoon and Drew has taken up a new hobby - Photography, raw camera style! Yay - a hobby we can both enjoy together, although I am a wimp and keep the camera in automatic mode most of the time. Here are some shots of his first true photo outing . . .
It's amazing what you can find to shoot in your back yard . . .
Or front yard . . .

A Happening Day
Today was a day I'm not really sure how to describe except as LIFE (and a bunch of quotes!).
Some things in life you just have to muddle through.
When all else fails, lower your standards.
I learned to be happy once I realized all hope was gone.
When life's too much, roll with it, baby. -Steve Winwood
Brand New Day! -U2
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you. -Bob Dylan
I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it. -Grandma (Parenthood)
There - now our blog is not totally photos :)

Happy ValenTIME's Day
Yesterday was Alyssa's Valentine's Day school party - they put on quite a show with three songs, flowers for Mommas and cards for Dadas. It's so hard to believe that a child of mine (and Drew's) gets to stand on the back row. I'm so thankful their school encourages them to get up in front of people and perform. It sure keeps them from being shy - most of the time anyway!
Alyssa and her "special" Valentine, yes, she is taller than he is! Alyssa made her own foam ValenTIMEs (as she says) but his was the only one that we purchased separately and was extra large! So cute - notice Cupid in the corner, Ah, young love . . .
My ValenTIMES . . .
Happy ValenTIME's Day, everyone!
A Dancin' New Do
Alyssa wanted to get a new "Big Girl" hair cut, so here's Make-a-face BEFORE . . .
And AFTER . . . Hope her face doesn't freeze this way!
The New Do inspired my girl to get up and DANCE! She loves me to turn on the Blog music and with her New Year's hat, tap Shoes, feather boa and half deflated balloon we put on quite a show, right in the kitchen - ha!

Vision 2009
We started our Vision Board last year, an idea borrowed from The Secret and it seems to work better for us than Resolutions. We accomplished a good number of things, should have made some items bigger and didn't follow through on some things. It's in our Living Room and we check it every now and then to see how we're doing and to add items to it throughout the year.
It's now hard to believe that Alyssa did not have an established bedtime prior to last year (oops!).
Maggie definitely has received more attention over this past year, maybe this year she will even get her walks she loves so much!
These are a few things I'm adding for this year - new glasses, a digital picture frame, organizing the wrapping paper (and a few other things!), playing outside, more emphasis on FRIENDS, and more vegetarian meals. Drew wants to add a big screen TV - men!

SECA Conference
I had the pleasure of attending the SECA conference in North Myrtle Beach last weekend. BUT my camera was dead so I have no photos - I swiped this ad from the website so I can remember where I've been. All 10 of our employees went in 2 cars and stayed in one condo (for female bonding). This was the first time I left Alyssa for more than one night (I was gone two). We had a really great time and learned so much from the sessions. AND I really appreciated my sweet quiet family when I returned - HA! I have already implemented several ideas with good results. It was a fantastic time all the way around and I am already looking forward to next year's conference!

Just a Fishin'
When it's too cold in Charleston to go fishin' you just fish in your yard. We learned this weekend that our girl is pretty good at casting . . .
Well, some of the time :)
A great hobby for her and her Daddy to have some fun with.
Because it was the same day - I just had to include this photo. Alyssa talking to the neighbor boys (a family of four boys) on their walkie talkies - she was so excited, should I start groaning now?!?!?
