Blogs should be educational, right? So here's what we've learned about Fifth's Disease since our visit to the Pediatrician Thursday afternoon . . . It's a viral illness that produces red cheeks and a rash on the body. Also known as slapped cheek syndrome, slapcheek, slap face or slapped face. By the time you notice the red cheeks and rash, the infectious period has passed (great!). Pretty much no big deal as long as the sick child is not around pregnant women in their first trimester. Here's a few shots of our girl's extra rosy cheeks (the leftover ice cream sandwich on her lower lip is a bonus) . . .
AND no trip to the Pediatrician's would be complete without a treat for being good from the old timey drug store and a bounce or two on it's joggling bench. There's no place like Charleston!
